Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Gibson Celebrate Their Golden Wedding.

Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Gibson of Stanton celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Wednesday at their home near Stanton. All of their children and grandchildren were present to assist in the celebration. Mr. J. K. Gibson and Miss Rosa Somerville were married November 22, 1866, at Stanton and have since that time resided there. Tuesday evening an old-fashioned family dinner was enjoyed with all the delicacies of the season. Golden chrysanthemums were used as a center piece and the place cards were especially attractive. They were designed and painted by Mrs. Nate Gibson of Muskogee, Okla. The one at Mrs. Gibson's place was a Confederate soldier in his gray uniform, carrying a flag with 1866 on it. The card bearing Mr. Gibson's name was a wedding cake decorated with a miniature bride and groom. Mr. and Mrs. Gibson were the recipients of many handsome golden presents, among them $100 in gold from the Stanton Bank, of which institution Mr. Gibson has been cashier since its organization. Mr. and Mrs. Gibson are the parents of six children, who were present on this memorable occasion. They are Mrs. Rosa Gibson White of Anniston, Ala., Mrs. Mary Gibson Nash, of Stanton, Messrs. Nate and Tom Gibson of Muskogee, Okla.; Messrs. Joe and Jim Gibson of Independence, Kansas; Mrs. Nat Gibson and two daughters, and Mrs. Joe Gibson were also present. The other out of town guests were Mrs. McNeely and Mrs. Morgan of Nashville; Mrs. and Mrs. S. F. Thomas, Mrs. C. R. Sherman and son, Charles, and Miss Mary Livingston of Brownsville.
