Mrs Mason Shepard, Mrs Clyde Boore and Mrs. Robert Sneefus were in charge of the flowers. Casket bearers were Harold, Delmar and Everett DeSmidt, Ray Johnson, Stanley Madsen and Dick Elwood. Burial was in the Union cemetery with the Lindhart funeral home in charge.
Anna was born May 2, 1875 in Beaver township and was a life long resident of Humboldt county. Her parents were Peter and Marie DeGroote DeSmidt. She grew up and received her education in Humboldt county. She kept house for her brother, John for many years. When they moved to Humboldt, she became a practical nurse and continued in this profession for many years.
She retired a number of years ago and while she enjoyed life and people to the last, she had been in failing health for several years. She had lived with her brother, John, and her sisters, Lucy and Frances, here for many years. Anna was a member of the Congregational church and one of the Ladies' circles of the church and the Order of Eastern Star.
Miss DeSmidt is survived by four brothers: John, James and Peter DeSmidt of Humboldt and Will DeSmidt of Clinton, and, one sister Frances DeSmidt of Humboldt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Lucy and Mary, and one brother, Abe.
