Isaac had a home in Birdville, Texas which was the county seat for Tarrant County. He had purchased a home from
Hamiliton Bennett, and converted it from a double log cabin into a spacious home. It was originally a dogtrot cabin.
Two years after marrying Virginia, Isaac left the home in Birdville in the care of his son Isaac Duke Parker and moved his new family to Parker County, which had been named in his honor.
Isaac and his first wife Lucy W. Cheatham whom he had married in Tennessee on August 13, 1816 followed his parents John and Sarah "Sallie" White Parker and other family members to the frontier of Illinois. Here they had five children; Joseph Cheatham, b. 1817, Isaac Duke b. 1821, William E. b. 1825, Virginia A. b. 1828, and Lucy Ann
b. 1830. Lucy died in 1867.

Rebecca b. 1871, Florence Susan b. 1873 d. 1879, Sally b. 1875, and Adam b. 1877.

Isaac was seventy-seven when his last child was born.
