Jimmy C. Lyons, 75, passed away August 15, 2015 in a Weatherford hospital. He was born June 24, 1940 in Perrin the son of Cecil Thurman and Annie Mae Cook Lyons. He was raised and went through school in Perrin. On April 22, 1960 he married Ella Lurene Hearn. Jim was involved with horses with C. T. Hearn in the early years. He went to work for Southern Airways in 1960. He left Mineral Wells but stayed in the helicopter business for most of his career, mostly working for Tenneco out of Houston. He traveled widely in his work and saw most of the United States and some of Europe. He loved to fish. His friend Jerry Lewallen moved down to Spring six months after Jim did. The two families went to Sam Rayburn Lake in East, Texas most weekends. They were great fishing buddies. He was a member of the Perrin United Methodist Church. Services will be 10 AM Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Perrin. Burial will follow in Salesville Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the Baum Carlock funeral home. He is survived by his wife: Ella Lurene Lyons, children: David Steve Lyons, Joe Thurman Lyons, and Kay Elaine Hall and husband Chris, grandchildren: James, Jake, Eric, and Cole Hall, Amy Lyons, and Jessie Lyons, great-grandson: Jaxson Minter, brother: Floyd Dean Lyons, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and older brother: Allen Lyons.
