William "Bill" Alcorn, 87, of Modesto died Wednesday at his home.

Mr. Alcorn was a native of Patterson. He lived in Modesto all his life. He owned and operated Olander & Williams Roofing Co. for 13 years.

He was a member of York Rite, Scottish Rite and E Clampus Vitus. He was past master of Masonic Lodge 675 and a three-time patron of the Order of the Eastern Star. He also was a member of Geneva Presbyterian Church. He was a graduate of Modesto High School and attended Modesto Junior College. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his children, Marilee Heaston of Turlock, Theodore Alcorn of Central America and Douglas Alcorn of Escalon; caregivers, Elaine Rose of Ceres and Janet Baker of Modesto; sister, Betty Swanson of Modesto; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Masonic Temple.

No public visitation. The McHenry Chapel of Franklin & Downs in charge of arrangements. Remembrances may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento 95817, or Community Hospice, 601 McHenry Ave., Suite C, Modesto 95350.
