Monica Renee’ Edwards Craig, 50, of Linville, Louisiana, died peacefully at home on Friday, August 14, 2015 in the company of family. Monica has shown great strength and determination during her long struggle with diabetes. She will be greatly missed by family members and friends.
Monica was born on November 17, 1964, to Olga Lee Edwards Reppond and the late J.C. (Duck) Edwards. She is survived by her husband, Mitch Craig of Linville; children Kirsty Summerhill (Stephen) of Sterlington, Tyler Craig of Linville, and Stephanie Bevins (Brandon) of Indianapolis, IN; grandson Brody Bevins, mother Olga Edwards Reppond of Linville; and one sister, Marcia Harrell (Gary) of Haile. She leaves behind a nephew, two nieces, many cousins, extended Reppond family and a host of friends.
Monica was a lifelong member of Liberty Baptist Church. She had traveled quite extensively and also enjoyed reading and shopping. Monica was a graduate of ULM and LSU and worked as a Board Certified Social Worker for many years.
The family wishes to express appreciation to the many doctors, nurses, and caregivers who have administered to her over the years, with a special thank you to Jamie Naron who provided assistance during the last few weeks.
Visitation will be held at Liberty Baptist Church in Linville on Sunday, August 16, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be at Liberty Baptist Church on Monday, August 17, at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Bubba Hoggatt assisted by Rev. Paul King will officiate. Interment will be at Liberty Cemetery.
Monica requested that a time be set aside during the service for memories to be shared; anyone is welcome to speak.
Pallbearers will be Steven Medlin, Joseph Bridges, Heath Snell, J.R. Fife, David Nowlin, and Rusty Bradshaw.
Honorary Pallbearers will be East Union Academy class of 1982
