Steven Lewis Bishop passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015, at his home in Kaysville, Utah. He was surrounded by his family as he lost his battle with cancer. He was a beloved father, grandfather and friend that will be missed by all those who knew him.
Steven was born to Leonard and Agnes Bishop of Garland, Utah on November 15, 1944. He married the love of his life, Betty King, in the LDS Logan Temple on September 11, 1970. They were married nearly 40 years when she suddenly passed away. He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly (Larry) Winterton, Brittney (Scott) Miller, Briana Bishop; his son, Wade Steven Bishop; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and his sisters, Phyllis Holmgren, Carol Mae Christensen, and Helen (Stanley) Barrett. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, wife, brother and his daughter, ShaunAlyn.
Steven was an amazing husband who adored his wife and all her crazy antics. He was a fierce protector of his children and never let them forget how much he loved and cared for them. All who knew him considered him a dear friend. His sense of humor and teasing nature always made those around him smile and laugh.
Steven was a very educated man and loved learning. It lead him to his career in working with high school students and then to become an Administrator for the Weber County School District. He loved being involved with his community. He served as a Drill Sergeant in the Vietnam War, was involved with local politics and worked at the Utah State Legislature each year. He also served many through his many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed the opportunity he had to serve an LDS mission to New York.
