Carl Junior Yundt, 89, of Eminence, Missouri, died Wednesday, August 12, 2015, having resided in the Mountain View Healthcare facility for five weeks. He was born April 15, 1926, near Stockwell, Indiana, to the late Carl Francis and Eleanor Elizabeth (Cartmill) Yundt. He was graduated from Stockwell High School in 1944, and he married Rena Deloris Summers on November 10, 1946, a marriage lasting 62 years. He chose Jesus Christ as his Lord in March 1958 and was a faithful follower. He served as a deacon of the Clarks Hill Christian Church and was a founding elder of the West Lafayette Christian Church. Early in his lifetime, he farmed, owned an implement dealership, ran his gas station, and then served the community delivering LP gas and selling/servicing appliances. Later he explored factory work at REA Magnet Wire and then became credit manager for a local furniture store. He worked as a coin collector for General Telephone and retired after supervising GTE collectors in western Indiana. He and his wife spent their retirement traveling throughout the United States as full-time RV’ers for several years before making Springfield, Missouri, their home. He lived with his daughter the last three years prior to his death.

He is survived by his daughter Becky Colvin (husband Gary) and four granddaughters: Jennifer King (husband Steven) of Springfield, MO; Jessica Colvin of Grass Valley, CA; Julie Bates (husband Joel) of Eminence, MO; and Joanna Pincosy (husband Jeremy) of Cape Girardeau, MO. He was also known as “Granpa Carl” to four great grandchildren and the entire Discovery Ministries staff.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and his siblings: Barbara Joan Metzger, Roberta Yundt, Wayne Leon Yundt, and Don Francis Yundt.

A family-and-friends memorial service was held at Northside Christian Church in Springfield, MO, on August 15th and burial was in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
