Nancy was born May 9, 1947 in Stanly County to the late Grace Irene Wensil Story and the late John Augustus Story. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Sue Story; and brother, Johnnie Wayne Story.
Nancy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was a devout Christian who always put others first, even through her illness. Nancy loved her grandchildren, spending time with them and taking care of them meant the world to her. She loved her chickens and raising them was actually a hobby to her. She just had a special gift! Nancy worked for 20 years at Burlington Industries, and later retired as owner and operator of Ludwig's Variety Store after 20 years.
The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Steve Kiger and Rev. Scott Davis, will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday at Lick Creek Baptist Church, 2574 Lick Creek Church Rd., Denton. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times, the family will be gathering at the home of her daughter, Susan Lovette, 2063 Lick Creek Church Road in Denton.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Thomas Benton Ludwig of New London; daughter, Susan Lovette and husband Colon of Denton; brother, William Lewis Story and wife Carol of Arden; grandchildren, Ollie Jermane, and Cheyenne Jane Lovette, both of Denton; six nieces and nephews.
