College Corner, OH - Russell C. "Russ" Pennington, 80, of College Corner, Ohio, died on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Reid Health in Richmond.

Russ was born in Hamilton, Ohio, on September 8, 1934, to Alfred and Mary Grimes Pennington. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and later served in the Army Ohio National Guard. Russ married Nora Grimes on May 27, 1961 in Morning Sun, Ohio. He also worked at Philco Ford in Connersville. Russ was a member of the American Legion in Liberty. He loved dogs and ran Greyhounds and Swim Dogs. Russ enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, and fishing.

In addition to his wife of 54 years, Russ is survived by a brother Bill Pennington and wife Carolyn of New Mexico; three nieces and seven nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Louis Pennington; and a sister, Francis Smith.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Showalter Blackwell Tilton Funeral Home, Baker Chapel, in College Corner with Pastor Roy VanWinkle officiating. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by the Preble County Honor Guard. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 4:00 "" 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17th.
