William Wesley East, 94, Crofton, KY, died at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Christian Health Center of natural causes.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2014, at Crofton Christian Church, with Rev. Steve Allen and Frank East officiating. Burial will follow at Lanier Cemetery. Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Crofton is in charge of arrangements.

A native of Earlington, KY, he was born January 29, 1920, the son of the late James Oscar and Lana Jackson East. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He worked as a coal miner. He was a member of Crofton Christian Church, where he taught Sunday School and was a Lifetime Deacon.

Survivors include wife, Kathleen Barnett East; 2 sons, William Michael East of Nashville, and Kevin Scott East (Marlene) of Dawson Springs; a brother, Frank East of Adairsville; 2 sisters, Odosca Haug of Evansville, and Sue Merrill of Texas; 4 grandchildren, John East, Matthew East, Elizabeth East, Cayce Figaro; 7 great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Johnson, Laney Johnson, Jacob East, Lilly East, Evangeline Figaro, Olivia Figaro, and Kyra Figaro.
