Suzanne Jackson, 83, of Defiance and formerly of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday evening, Aug. 12, 2015, at Community Health Hospice in Defiance.
She was born May 1, 1932, in Tiffin to Karl T. and Ernestine L. (Miller) Leiner. Nov. 20, 1955, she married C. Thomas Jackson Jr., and he preceded her in death Dec. 27, 2002.
She is survived by her son, William "Bill" (Callie) Jackson of Defiance; her daughter, Laurie J. (Gustavo) Sierra of Fostoria; a sister, Jane Schulz Jones of Billings, Montana; seven grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Mark, Noah, Cody, Ashley and Nakea; and one great-grandson, Jackson.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles Leiner; and a sister, Carolyn Bage.
Suzanne graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School and Heidelberg University, and received her master's degree from Bowling Green State University for her teaching career. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Tiffin and St. John's United Church of Christ in Defiance.
Her memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, 2015, at Trinity United Church of Christ, with the Revs. Dr. Louis Dorsch and Cheryl Stiles co-officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
She also will have a memorial service at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, at St. John's United Church of Christ, Defiance, with the Revs. Jim Brehler and Cheryl Stiles co-officiating.
