Mabel S Vail, a lifelong resident of the Tarrytowns, died Saturday at Phelps Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient one week.
Mrs Vail, 84, of 57 Neperan Road, was born in Tarrytown to Joseph E and Lizzie Raymond See. Her grandfather was the late Marcus D Raymond, a founder of The Argus, a Tarrytown weekly which was a predecessor of this newspaper.
She was a member of Tarrytown’s Second Reformed Church and athe Women’s Club there.
She is survived by her husband, Earle H Vail, a daughter, Rosemary V McNamara of Port Washington LI, a son Earle H Vail of Putnam Valley NY, a sister, Mrs Henry (Iona) Fitzgerald of Harwichport, Mass; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
