Matthew B. Goodwin, age 24, passed away August 13, 2015. He was born March 18, 1991 in Columbus, Ohio the son of Dan and Mary (Burgundy) Goodwin, and was a 2009 graduate of Hilliard-Darby High School. Matt was currently a student at Columbus State and an employee at Tommy's Pizza. He was an avid Blue Jackets and St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed bicycling, reading and playing his bass guitar. He was also an animal lover. Matt is now reunited with his mother, who preceded him in death in 2002. He is survived by his father, Dan; sister Kacie; paternal grandparents, W.L. and Dennis Goodwin of Belpre, OH; maternal grandparents, Richard and Beverly Burgundy of Pittsburgh, PA; aunts and uncles, David (Lynn), James, Robert and Christine Goodwin, Leslie Maddox, Dan (Amy) Burgundy, Doug (Jane) Damico and Sarah (Renato) Umali; many cousins, extended family, coworkers and friends. Family will receive friends 5-8pm Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Schoedinger Hilltop Chapel, 3030 W. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43204. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30am Wednesday, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 434 Norton Rd., Columbus, OH 43228, with interment to follow in Alton Cemetery; Fr. James Colopy, celebrant.
