Donna J. Austin, age 77, formerly of Rome, passed away August 12, 2015, at Saratoga Hospital, with her family at her side.
She was born August 26, 1937, in Rome, a daughter of the late Stanley and Doris Bostwick James, and educated in Oriskany schools. Donna was united in marriage to Clifford R. Austin on October 20, 1956, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church; he died July 31, 2007. Donna was a homemaker and also enjoyed years of sewing for family and friends, especially the "square dancers".
Donna is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, a son, her companion, grandchildren, a sister, a brother and sister-in-law, a sister-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Jackie Sobik, and a brother-in-law, Roy H. Austin, Jr.
The funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Vernon.
Relatives and friends may call at Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Sunday 3 to 6 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
