Muriel was born an only child in Belfast, Northern Ireland on May 17, 1921. She met her husband, Frederick Sharp, in England during the war, and they were married in January, 1946.
Muriel immigrated to the United States and eventually settled in Pomona, California. She spent her years as a supportive wife and loving mother of three adopted children. She was a founding member of the Inland Valley Humane Society in Pomona (Pomona Valley Humane Society), and was active in charitable work, for her church, and with her children's schools.
Muriel is survived by her three children and son-in-law, Patti Sharp, Diana Sharp Goldman, Fred Sharp, and Ken Cross; three grandsons and their wives, Justin and Barbara Moen, Casey and Charlene Moen, and Grant Goldman and Kendall Alexander; and five great-grandchildren, Landon, Hailey, Jackson, Morgan, and Carter.
Her husband, Frederick, precedes Muriel in death, and she will be laid to rest with him at Pomona Cemetery. Groce Funeral Home in Asheville, North Carolina and Todd Memorial Chapel in Pomona, California will handle her final arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Asheville Humane Society in North Carolina, or the Inland Valley Humane Society in Pomona, California. The Family wants to thank Care Partners Hospice and family and friends for ongoing friendship and support.
