In 1850 Caroline's older sister Deborah, Mrs. Jacob Fried/Freed, died of convulsions (probably of childbirth). Caroline had been living with her eldest sister Mrs. Mary Schantz at that time.
Within months Caroline married her widowed brother-in-law Jacob, on September 15, 1850, and became the second Mrs. Fried.
Together Caroline and Jacob had 7 children before Caroline's death due to convulsions of pregnancy in 1869.
1. William John died as toddler and is buried next to Caroline's sister Deborah in the Bishop John Boyer row.

3. Steven buried with sister Kate and mother Caroline
4. Catherine "Kate" buried with mother and Steven.
