Lynn Dennis Stanger passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 13, 2015 at the age of 81.

Lynn was the 5th son of Grant Calvert Stanger and Leah Virginia Jones born on November 4, 1933 in Pocatello.

Lynn married the love of his live on May 17, 1958, Sharon Madelon Barker in Bancroft, Idaho where they started their many adventures in life together.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Madelon Barker, and 3 daughters: Stacy Humpherys (Rob), Carrie Jo Stanger and Carmen Stanger (Dean Barney) and foster son Alan C. Gayhart, Sr. (Connie) and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Too numerous to name, but he knew everyone by name and bragged about all of them. Lynn is also survived by siblings Neil Stanger (Donna), Noel Stanger (Mary), Virgil Stanger (Linley), Jennie Winters (Gene), and Thomas Stanger (Shirlene).

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers (Grant and Freddie Stanger), one daughter (Sharilyn Barnes), one son (Grant C. Stanger), and two granddaughters (June Clarke and Madelon Stanger-Holliefield).

Lynn was very proud of his service in the U.S. Army among the elite troops of the 82nd Airborne Division from 1950-1956 during the Korean conflict where he traveled to Korea, Panama, Iceland and Hawaii while in the service of his beloved country.

Throughout his life he enjoyed old country folk songs, horseback riding, hunting, practical joking, spontaneous road trips with his wife and kids, fishing, fishing…and more fishing, and last but not least fishing.

Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Bancroft LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Bancroft LDS Chapel and on Tuesday 1 hour prior to services at the church.

Interment will be in the Bancroft City Cemetery with Military Rites provided. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel 510 N. 12th Ave. Visit www.manningwheatleyfuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
