She was born on September 6, 1947 in Boone, Iowa to Glen and Doris (Markey) Runyan.
Survivors include her children, Dawn Brown of Concordia, Kansas, Louie Thrash of Fargo, North Dakota, Chris Thrash of Concordia, Kansas and Jeramy Thrash of Concordia, Kansas; brother, Randy Runyan of Boulder, Montana and two nieces, Amanda Martinez and Jennifer Grennan.
Connie was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Markey and step-father, Johnny Thomas; husband, Bill Nelson; three brothers, Mike Runyan, Steve Runyan and Terry Runyan; and a nephew, Andy Runyan.
A Celebration Of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Belleville Wesleyan Church in Belleville, Kansas.
The family is honoring Connie's wish for cremation. Burial will be held at a later at the Viola Cemetery near Eddyville, Nebraska.
