Mrs. Lizzie Frances Barnes, 79, widow of George Barnes, died last Wednesday at the Pewee Valley Hospital. She resided at Cedar Point, LaGrange.

Mrs. Barnes was the daughter of John and Eliza Gillipan Milburn and a member of Crestwood Baptist Church at Frankfort.

Surviving are five daughters, mrs. Clarence Reed, LaGrange, Mrs. Jett Harrod, Shelbyville; Mrs. Richard Harrod, Frankfort; Mrs. Roy P. Tingle, Chestnut Grove, and Mrs. Michael Scanlon, Lexington; four sons, Jonah Barnes, Cincinnati; Willie Barnes, LaGrange; Chesley Barnes, Louisville; and Oby Barnes, LaGange, thirty grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Merte Milburn, VanBuren.

Funeral services were conducted from Shannon Funeral Home by he Rev. Henry Downey and the Rev. Fred Moffatt. Interment was in Defoe Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Harold Tingle, John Harrod, Ray Harrod, Bill Darland, David Barnes, Bobby Harrod, Joe Tingle and Jim Harrod.
