Shelby —Marie Hellinger, 81, a longtime homemaker from Devon, passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease, on August 9, 2015 at the Marias Care Center.

Marie was born on March 28, 1934 in Fertile, MN. She graduated from high school in Erskine, MN and then came to Montana shortly after. She married Bob Hellinger and they had two sons. Marie was happy on the farm taking care of her family, yard, and animals; also loving her daily walks with her dog. She was very involved in the MMC hospital auxiliary and working at the local Cedar Closet. Marie volunteered daily at Camp Collie that was a rescue operation for dogs that had been neglected. Marie also loved spending time with her two grandchildren.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Donald (Bob).

She is survived by her two sons, Doug and Jim, both of Devon; sisters Rusty French of Anchorage, AK, Marj (John) Bowles of Niles, MI, and Gerry(Ron) Kolanowski of Plymouth, Indiana; her two grandchildren Riley and Madeline Hellinger of Shelby; cousin Marion Franklin of Great Falls; and her many friends in the area.

There will be a graveside service at the Mountain View Cemetery on Friday, August 14, at 10:00 am under the direction of Whitted Funeral Chapel.
