Walter E. Pofahl, 32, funeral will be held Saturday with burial in New Lutheran cemetery. He died 5:15 p.m. Tuesday in Norfolk. He was born September 14, 1923 at Plainview to Mr. and Mrs. Emil Pofahl. He was the youngest of 9 children. "When he was 11 he was admitted to the Orthopedic Hospital at Lincoln, where he was a patient most of the next 7 years." He was married in 1946 to Miss Shirley McLaughlin. They had 2 daughters and 1 son. He was survived by his 3 children, his mother Mrs. Ida Pofahl at Norfolk, 3 sisters: Hazel, Mrs. Walter Oaks both at Washington, D.C.; Hilda at Clifton, Ohio; 4 brothers: Lloyd at Deweese, Ralph at Moose Jaw, Canada; Arthur at Red Cloud; Cletus** at Norfolk. He was preceded in death by his father in 1939, 1 brother Harold in World War II.
