He graduated from Bellevue High School in 1951.
Clyde served in the U. S. Navy on USS Donner from 1953 to 1957 as a Yeoman Third Class where he worked on the Dew Line at the North Pole. He worked for Sullivan's Dairy and retired from Ralston Purina.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen (Olmstead) Jenkins of Bellevue; sons, Timothy (Sharon) Jenkins of Battle Creek, Theodore (Kristin) Jenkins of Battle Creek; daughters, Teresa (Steve) Laurila of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Tricia (John) Howley of Portage; eight grand children; six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and twin sister, Bessie Mae Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers William Jenkins, Robert Jenkins, Floyd Jenkins, Kenneth Jenkins, Harold Jenkins, Raymond Jenkins, and Lloyd Jenkins; sisters, Beatrice Struwin, Eloise Barber, Virginia Smalley, Alma Erskine and Betty Good Smith.
Clyde was active with the American Legion, Post 280 in Bellevue, enjoyed playing baseball, bowling, softball, and watching Detroit Tiger baseball.
Service was at Bellevue First Baptist Church with Pastor Don Francis officiating. Interment was at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Marian E. Burch Adult Day Care and Rehabilitation Center or Calhoun County Medical Care Facility.
