Mrs. Julie Ann Harrington, 64, of Port Huron, died of cancer Thursday, July 27, 2006 at home after a long illness. She was born January 14, 1942 in Alpena to the late Clarence and Velma Bleau and lived most of her life in Marysville and Port Huron.
Julie considered it the smartest thing she ever did when she married E. J. Harrington on June 3, 1962. After several years as a fun loving stay at home mom, she returned to the workplace.
Julie was part of the family at St. Clair County Community College for more than 22 years. She provided the continuity for several changes in management and always had an open ear for her co-workers. The special loves of Julie's life were her grandchildren, gardening, watching college basketball and HGTV, as well as reading.
She is survived by her husband, Edmund J. "E.J." Harrington, Jr. of Port Huron; two daughters, Colonel Lisa Belue, USAF of Tampa, Florida and Mr. & Mrs. Don (Laura) Grattan of Port Huron; a daughter-in-law, Dawn Harrington of Fort Gratiot; six grandchildren, Caitlin Belue, Kristen and DJ Grattan, Baylee, Brandon and Brooke Harrington; her mother-in-law, Marie Harrington of Fort Gratiot; two brothers, Tom Bleau of Alpena and Clare Bleau of Luna Pier; a brother-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Tom (Linda) Harrington of Fort Gratiot; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Harrington; her parents; and her father-in-law, Edmund Harrington. Visitation will be 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2006 in St. Mary Catholic Church, Port Huron, with visitation from 9: 30 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass. The Reverend Father Simeon Iber will officiate.
The Rite of Committal will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron.
Pallbearers will be Kirk Kramer, Robert Kovach, Duke Gorinac, Terry Bennett, David Bleau and Tom Bleau.
