Frances Aldridge, 73, of Oskaloosa, Iowa, died Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa.
She was born April 22, 1942, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Francis Leroy and Anna Belle Engle Puckett.
Early on she worked at the old overall factory in Pella, Iowa.
On June 2, 1962, she was united in marriage to Leland Aldridge at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Leland died June 12, 2006.
Later she did home care for elderly people in Oskaloosa. She retired from that in 1995.
She enjoyed visiting with friends, playing cards, and bingo. She delighted in spending time with her family.
She will be remembered as a kind and loving person who accepted everyone and was always willing to help.
Her family includes her daughter, Juanita Davis of Oskaloosa; her son and his wife, Justin and Tianna Aldridge of Oskaloosa; three grandchildren, Johnny Rick, McKenzie Shepherd, and Noah Shepherd; and a great-granddaughter, Layla Best.
In addition to her husband, Frances was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Kathy Klataske; a grandson, Buddy See; a son-in-law, William Davis; and a brother in infancy.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa, with Reverend Dave Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Beacon Cemetery, west of Beacon, Iowa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will begin Friday after 2:00 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel, and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 5:00 to 7:00 Friday evening to greet friends and relatives.
