Barbara Ewell, 77 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Adams Woodcrest.
She was born on Tuesday, October 12, 1937 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan the daughter of the late Ralph Rudrow and the late Maxine (Scheff) Rudrow. In 1958, while working at Eckrich in Fort Wayne, Barb met a man by the name of Marvin Ewell...or as he tells it, he saw her first. They were united in marriage on October 9, 1960 on October 9, 1960 at Peace Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne.
Barb was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur.
She worked at Eckrich in Fort Wayne for several years in the capacity of secretary. After she left Eckrich, and after her family was raised, Barb worked at the Indiana District Lutheran Church as a secretary where she retired in 1999.
Surviving are her husband, Marvin Ewell of Decatur; son, Rev. Tim (Laura) Ewell of Canton, MI; son, Greg (Tracey) Ewell of Naperville, IL; brother, Jim Rudrow of Decatur; and five grandchildren, Erika Ewell; Nathan Ewell; Jamie Ewell; Alyssa Ewell; and Jonathan Ewell.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2015 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Rev. Tim Ewell officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, August 16 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur.
