Carl was first married to Clara A. Huckins on December 20, 1911, in Buffalo, South Dakota, and she was the mother of his children.

Ted C. Gerth married Goldie Gee McIntire on February 4, 1938, in Davenport, Iowa. Thank you to findagrave member Jenny McBrannon for posting this marriage record. It may also be viewed in familysearch.org. The obituaries for Goldie and Carl C. Gerth, which I have transcribed into their memorials, both stated that they were married in 1937, and this was the date I originally showed as them being married on findagrave. After receiving an edit from Jenny on January 21, 2021, to change the date to 1938, I double-checked their obituaries and verified that they did say 1937. After viewing their marriage certificate, I accepted her edit to change the date to 1938.
