Ken was born in Dinuba, California on November 21,1939. The son of Vera (Flora) and Lloyd Diggs, he was raised in nearby Orosi and attended Orosi High, graduating in 1957. Ken’s passion in life was aviation, and his lifelong involvement in the industry began in college. He earned his general aviation pilot’s license, and graduated from Reedley Junior College with an A&P mechanic’s license in 1959. In 1960, he was hired by United Airlines. He joined the US Air Force in 1961. At the end of his service, he returned to United, simultaneously earning a degree in Aeronautical Maintenance Operations from San Jose State University. In his 38 years at United, four of which were spent in Hong Kong and the Pacific, he worked in numerous capacities. After his retirement in 1998, he continued to work at various aviation facilities in California, Arizona and Texas.

Beyond his love of aviation, Ken enjoyed nature, good music, and travel. He was an avid skier, had a vegetable garden wherever he lived, loved the latest technology, and enjoyed entertaining friends and family at home. He will be forever loved and missed by his wife Madelyn, his daughter Kari and son Matt, his stepchildren Laurie and Brandon, his son-in-law Kirk, his precious granddaughters Alaina and Fiona, his brother Vernon, and sister Elaine, as well as many other relatives and numerous great friends.
