Gene Webb Jennings 83, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Mosaic life care. He was born September 20, 1931 in St. Joseph, MO, son of Georgi and Ray Jennings. He graduated from Benton High School Class of 1950 and He worked at United Department Store until they closed as a Wearhouse Manager. He loved the Saint Louis Cardinals and attended several games, he was a member of Swiss Lodge and Immanuel Baptist Church and formerly the Carnegie Baptist Church. Gene was preceded in death by wife, Velma Jennings, his parents, a brother, Roger Jennings and a sister Margaret Thompson. Survivors include, son, David "Skeeter" (Jackie) Atkison of Stanberry, MO, four grandchildren: Dawn (Shannon) Montgomery, Jeremy Atkison (Jackie Fergison), Teresa (Tim) Leinan and Jeann Ann (Corky) Slagle, 7 great grandchildren, 1 great great grand child, brother, Jack (Barb) Jennings of St. Joseph, MO, two sisters, Shirley Morton of MI, Nancy Grace of St. Joseph.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am, on Friday, August 14, 2015 at Rupp Funeral Home, with Rev. Albert Shirley officiating, The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery .
