Jordan Richard Haynes was born in the United Kingdom. An Englishman for the first 15 years of his life, he graduated from Arlington Heights High School, where he lettered in cross country. He attended Texas Tech and TCU, where he was a proud member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He did his basic training at Fort Benning, Ga. He was in training for Special Forces at Fort Bragg, N.C., when he died. He would have graduated in March 2007. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had many friends who will remember him for his quick wit and constant attention to being a real Texan. In respect to his memory, his family says to all his friends, "Buckle up." Survivors: His father, Richard William Haynes, retired W.O., United Kingdom Royal Marines, his wife, Julia, and their daughter, Emily; mother, Lezlie Mitchell Haynes; sisters, Jennifer Haynes and Savannah Bruton; maternal grandparents, Joe Mitchell and Carol Mitchell; and aunt and uncle, Chuck and Kathy Mitchell and their daughter, Samantha.
