She married Thomas Alvin Bennett on March 3, 1937 in Idaho Falls, Idaho and they had Louis Edward Bennett who lived for only 24 hours. They later had Geneva Pearl Bennett who was born at Kansas City, Missouri. In 1952, they moved to Burley, Idaho and later divorced. In August 1956, she married Clarence Barney and he passed away on February 4, 1987.
She has been active in the Baptist Church and was a gifted Sunday School teacher. Ruth has been a good friend to many people.
She is survived by a brother, Robert Emry Kembel of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and a sister, Marie Anderson Chixa of Springfield, Missouri. She is also survived by her daughter, Geneva Bennett Jones of Boise, Idaho, two grandsons, Steve Jones of Emmett, Idaho and Dave Jones of Boise, Idaho and two great grandsons, Cation and Adarsh Jones. She is also survived by a cousin, Eunice Caudle of Burley, Idaho.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 31, 2006 at the Burley First Baptist Church. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley. Arrangements are under the direction of Payne Mortuary in Burley.
