MARIE AVERY FIELDS, 79, of Memphis, widow of James L. Fields, Sr., retired clerk for U.S. Steel, 1956 graduate of Manassas High School, died on Monday, August 10, 2015. Family will receive friends on Friday, August 14 from 5-7 p.m. at Harrison's Memorial Chapel, 3320 Millbranch Rd. Visitation, Saturday, August 15 from 12-12:55 p.m. at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church, 2390 Chelsea Avenue, where she was a member, with Funeral Ceremony at 1 p.m. Interment in New Park Cemetery, 4536 Horn Lake Rd. Her life and legacy will be cherished by her sons, James L. (Joanne) Fields, Jr. and Maurice D. Fields; her grandchildren, Demetria, Antonio, James "Tra'", III and Jazz Fields; three great-grandchildren, Deario', D'Arrikya and D'Caria Fields, her sisters: Ella Malone, Catherine Swearengen and Florine (Otis) Williams, her adopted brother, Ben (Geraldine) Byrd, a devoted friend, Florence Whitmore and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
