After a long struggle with illness, our beloved husband and father passed away peacefully on August 10, 2015. He was born to Harold M. and Frances E. Trotter Vaughn on August 06, 1948, in Russell, Kansas. He attended schools in Chanute and Wichita. He graduated from South High School in Wichita in 1966 and joined the US Navy in 1969, serving aboard the USS Washburn and USS Asheville during the Viet Nam War. After serving in the Navy, he attended Independence Community College and graduated from Kansas State College of Pittsburg. He married the former Susan Kniffen in 1968 and they later divorced. To this union were born Kimberly S. Vaughn Lakey and Kellanie S. Vaughn Bokey (Shane). In 2011, he married Karen Goetzinger and she survives at the home. He is also survived by his mother, Frances E. Vaughn of Wichita, his daughters, Kimberly and Kellanie, six grandchildren and two great-grandaughters, his brother, Michael Vaughn (Vonnie) of Derby and a step-daugher, Audrey Goetzinger of Wichita. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold M. Vaughn. Cremation arrangements were handled by Broadway Mortuary in Wichita.
