Kipfer, Jake, son of Menno and Leah Kipfer, was born in Waterloo Co., Ont., May 20, 1876; passed away quite suddenly at his home, June 11, 1954; aged 78 y. 22 d. On Dec. 23, 1915, he was united marriage to Emma Gascho, in which union were born 2 children (Mildred-Mrs. Lewis Boshart, Seaforth, Ont., and Elgin, Zurich, Ont.). He was preceded in death by 2 brothers (Christ and Samuel). Surviving are his wife, 2 children 5 grandchildren, 6 brothers (John, of Michigan; Ezra, Hensall, Ont.; Noah, Solomon, and David, of Iowa; and Simon, of Minnesota), 5 sisters (Mary-Mrs. Jake Moyer, Kitchener, Ont.; Ella-Mrs. Leesome Desjardine, Exeter, Ont.; Nancy-Mrs. Thomas Kyle, Hensall, Ont.; Edith, Exeter, Ont.; and Pearl-Mrs. Jacob Gingerich, of Hay Township), and many friends. Quite early in his life he united with the Zurich Mennonite Church and continued a member until his decease. Funeral services were held at the Zurich Mennonite Church, June 13, in charge of Albert Martin, with interment in the Mennonite Cemetery, Goshen Line.
