Christopher David McCauley, 16, passed away at BroMenn Healthcare, Normal, on Tuesday of cancer. The son of David L. and Shirley M. (nee Cornell) McCauley, he attended Minier Grade School and Olympia Middle and High School. He was a nine year member of the Minier Pioneer 4-H Club and served as Junior Leader and Vice President. He was also a member of the Tazewell County 4-H Federation.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Virginia M. Cornell formerly of Tremont. He is survived by his father, David L.; his mother, Shirley M.; one brother, James A.; maternal grandfather, Francis J. Cornell; paternal grandparents, J. Bernard and Doris McCauley; five aunts, Linda Kauffman, Recka Daniels, Cathie Embery, Pat Graham and Tammy McCauley; and several great-aunts and uncles.

Visitation was held at McReynolds-Beck Funeral Home, Minier. His funeral was Friday, April 12 at St. John's United Church of Christ, Minier, the Rev. Daniel Dexter and Norvin Condy officiated.
