Randy, or Curley, as his siblings fondly called him, was born "in space" in Santa Rita, New Mexico, on Jan. 28, 1929. He was the son of Ula Greer Rogers and Lee M. Rogers. He was born into a large and loving family of 13 children. Randy had four sisters and eight brothers, and with them came many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. All of whom he was very proud of and loved so much; his family meant the world to him.He is survived by his wife, Marie; two sons, James Buddy Rogers (Nancy) and Kenny Rogers (Julie); two daughters, Patty Harris and Becky Moore (Dudley); seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one sister, Glenda Nelson (Jerry); four brothers, Les Rogers (Norma); A.C. Rogers (Phyllis); Donald Rogers (Judy); and Larry Rogers.Randy loved his country and enlisted and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1953. He attended Western New Mexico University and obtained his bachelor's degree in business in 1959. He retired from Kennecott Copper Corp. after many years working at the power plant in Hurley, New Mexico. He loved spending time at Elephant Butte Lake, teaching his children and many others how to water ski. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and was a huge Chicago Cubs fan. He was also an avid square dancer. Above all else he loved spending time with his family.
