Funeral services for Mrs. Florence C. Lindell were held on Tuesday, Nov 24, 1959 with burial in Villisca Cemetery.
Florence Carrie Peets, daughter of Julia and William Peets was born in Marysville, Mo., on October 7, 1875 and passed away at the Clarinda Municipal Hospital on Sunday, Nov 22, 1959. She was 84 years of age.
At the age of 5, with her family, she went by covered wagon to Marysville, Kans. where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Harry Lindell on June 4, 1902. To this union, four children, Carl of Shenandoah, Mrs. Harry Darling of Greenfield, Mrs. Lynn Hull of Villisca, and a daughter, Mildred who died in infancy. Mr. Lindell passed away in May 1949.
The family moved to Villisca in 1913. Mrs. Lindell was an active member of the Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star of which she was a Past Worthy Matron and a past Grand Officer. She was at one time a member of the White Shrine. She was also a member of various civic and social organizations.
Mrs. Lindell was a lover of flowers and found many hours of pleasure in working with them and sharing them with others.
Besides her three children she is survived by two grandsons, Robert Lindell of Lincoln, Nebr., and David Hull of Villisca, and a sister, Mrs. Idella Adams of Topeka, Kansas, several nieces and nephews and a number of other relatives.
