Roy Lee Lewis passed peacefully into the next phase of his existence on Sunday surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born in "Indian Territory" (now the Cherokee Reservation) in Oklahoma to Native American/
Irish parents, Charlie Erastus Gardner and Francis (Campbell) Lewis. He was one of 13 children.

He was a hard-working, industrious man. He served four years in the Navy during World War II as a radar operator on an island in the Indian Ocean.

He met and married Ruth Naomi Gardner in 1946. She preceded him in death in 1985.

He worked for Simpson Timber Company for more than 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, fixing things, country music and tinkering around in his garage. He lived for his family.

He is survived by daughter Sandra Greenley; grandchildren Kristopher Lee Blackstone and Autumn Rose Greenley; brother Elmer Lewis; and sister Bessie Lewis Roller. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Ruth.

A funeral service will be Friday at Fisher Funeral Home, 306 Washington St. S.W., Albany, OR 97321 (www.fisherfuneralhome.com).
