ANDERSON — William Dumont Currey, 78, resident of Anderson, passed away Aug. 5, 2015, at Manor Care Nursing Home in Anderson.

He was born July 29, 1937, in Daleville, the son of Frank and Margaret Thelma Lovett Currey. He was a 1955 graduate of Daleville High School.

He was owner of Art’s Varsity Pizza in Edgewood and a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors are two daughters, Norma Jean Rose and Cheryl Hopkins (Daleve) of Anderson; two grandchildren, Jordan and Austina Lycans; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Fred Currey of Summitville; a sister, Carolyn Wages of Muncie; nieces and nephews; also her caregiver, Kim Woods; as well as her grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hellen J. Portwood; as well as a brother, Donald G. Currey.

Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Ballard and Sons, 8212 S. Walnut St., Daleville, with a closing prayer at 6 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
