BOONEVILLE – Jack Enoch Arnold, 84, passed away Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at his home. He was born September 8, 1930, to Braudis and Bessie Arnold. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He loved all animals, especially his three dogs at home, Jodie, Magee and Sophia.

Known as "Mr. Jack" to his students, he taught chemistry, physics and biology for 34 years. He coached basketball and drove a school bus for many years. He retired from the National Guard as a lieutenant colonel. He served on the Board of Booneville Alderman for eight years. He was an elder for Booneville Church of Christ for more than 25 years. He served as treasurer there for many of those years.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015, at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Dan Huggins and Minister Jim Estes officiating. Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery.

He is survived by wife of 59 years, Vernell Arnold of Booneville; two daughters, Angela Arnold of Tupelo and Mitzi Thompson of Booneville; son, Mike (Gloria) Arnold of Tupelo; grandchildren, Kevin Thompson, Keenan (Kacy) Thompson, Emmalee (Ped) Hicks and Grayson Arnold; and great-grandchildren, Abby and Preslee Hicks.

He was preceded in death by parents; brother, William Arnold; and son-in-law, Keith Thompson.

Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 11, 2015, at McMillan Funeral Home and will continue until service time on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015.
