Nancy Anne (Campbell) Dorsey was born on November 5, 1948 in Evanston, Illinois and died at her home in Lawrence, Kansas on August 5, 2015 after a 60 day battle against triple negative breast cancer. She grew up in New London and Greenwich, Connecticut, and graduated from the University of Kansas in 1972. In 1984 she moved to Saudi Arabia for five years with 5-month old twins, a 4 year old, and a son in sixth grade. She visited 26 countries in Europe, Asia, and Africa including the Seychelles Islands in the middle of the Indian Ocean. She taught special education in the Hillsborough School District, Hillsborough, New Jersey from 1992 until her retirement in 2005. She was a member and secretary for the local chapter of National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and was a member of the Kaw Valley Bridge Group. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jean (Scheibel) Campbell and her father, Laurie Hudson Campbell. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, four sons, three grandchildren, and three sisters. She donated her body to the University of Kansas Medical Center for research and training purposes.
