Funeral services were held Friday, March 11, 2011 in the Chapel of Humphreys County Funeral Home for Alton Ray Gordon, Sr. of Waverly.
Mr. Gordon, age 70, passed away March 9.
Bro. Jeff Keele and Chris Dishman officiated the service with interment in Richlawn Cemetery. Humphreys County Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Gordon was born Dec. 16, 1940 in Humphreys County. He was an Army Veteran.
Mr. Gordon was the son of the late James Dan Sr. and Lela Florence Downey Gordon. He was married to Paula Gordon of Waverly.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Dan Gordon and one sister, Jane Gordon.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include one son, Alton Gordon, Jr. of Waverly; one daughter, Amy Gordon (Levi) Dodd of Paris; one brother, Downey Gordon of Nashville; four sisters, Jean Schouten of Nashville, Onita Russell of Nashville, Patricia Shepa-rd of Nashville and Shirley Welch of Nashville; and three grandchildren, Grant, Dalton and Lauren Dodd of Paris.
