Pauline was born on August 18, 1929, the eighth child & youngest daughter of 13 children born to John Dempsey Boone and Alice King Boone. She married Johnny H. Brooks on March 9, 1950 and they shared the joys and sorrows of life together for more than 65 years. Pauline enjoyed gardening and her beautiful flowers. She was a devoted wife and mother to her family. Pauline and Johnny raised their family on their farm on Pigg River, just east of Rocky Mount. She was a member of the Rocky Mount Primitive Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two infant sons; four sisters: Anna Divers, Jessie Sides, Rachel Johnson, Lucy Johnson; four brothers, John Boone, Thomas Boone, James Boone and Clyde Boone.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny, and four sons: J. Wendell Brooks, Merriman ( Amanda) Brooks, Byron Brooks, & Donald (Kelly) Brooks, seven grandchildren: Kristin Brooks, CPT Beth (James) Vaughan, Andrew Brooks, Amber Brooks, Summer, Sawyer and Olivia Brooks. Also surviving are brothers: Robert ( Betsy) Boone, Claude (Carol) Boone, Ralph (Mary) Boone, and Buren ( Karen) Boone; sisters-in-Law: Geneva Boone, Duaine Boone and Hazel Boone.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and the funeral will be on Wednesday, August 12 at 10 o'clock, all held at Glade Hill Baptist Church, Glade Hill VA. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Park. Special thanks to Carilion Hospice Services of Franklin County. Also to Betty Hubbard, Elaine Garrett and Gloria France for their love and support.
