Those serving as active casketbearers will be Travis, Ryan, Alexander, Calvin and Taylor Peterson and Nicholas Batterman. A private burial will be held at a later date in the Prairie Hill Cemetery at Bradley.

She was born Lucille Maxine Schanbeck at Watertown on November 27, 1931, the daughter of Harold and Mary (Oldfield) Schanbeck. Lucille attended Watertown Schools.

On March 18, 1951 she was united in marriage to Merle W. Peterson at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Bradley, during a blizzard! The couple lived and farmed near Wallace for many years, and Lucille enjoyed helping on the farm. They moved into the Benet Place at Watertown a few years ago and then she became a resident of the Jenkins Living Center at Watertown a little over a year ago.

In her free time she thoroughly enjoyed reading, needlework, and sewing. She loved living on the farm, enjoying holidays and hunting seasons, all which involved her family being together. They enjoyed traveling in the campers over the years, going for the winters, visiting with friends both old and new, and their family along the way.

Preceding her in death were her parents, siblings, Clifford (Carol) Schanbeck and Loris Rosenberg, a niece, Connie Marchant and a brother-in-law, Don Schmidt.

Grateful for having shared in her life is her husband Merle W. Peterson of Watertown, children, Linette (Terry) Batterman of Belle Fourche, Ron (Diane) Peterson of Watertown and Doyle Peterson of Bradley; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings Viola Linngren of Watertown, Helen Schmidt of Willow Lake, Louise (Roger) Danielson of Isle, MN, Marilyn Schanbeck of Watertown and Lyle Schanbeck of Cedar City, UT.

Memorials would be appreciated in her memory to the Calvary Lutheran Church at Wallace or to Benet Place at Watertown.
