James was born on Dec. 7, 1937 in Lyons, IA, the son of Harley and Helen (Loundroche) Luce. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1957. He married Joan Richert on Nov. 8, 1958 in Green Bay, WI. James was a bus driver for Clinton M.T.A. for over 37 years and owned and operated Luce Tax Services in Clinton for over 30 years. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fulton, where he was a Eucharist Minister.
James is survived by his wife, Joan Luce of Clinton; his daughter, Troy (Jody) Brown of Rockford, IL; 7 grandchildren, Melissa, Kyle, Carly, Jessica, Patrick, Hope, and Faith; 5 great grandchildren, Caleb, Emma, Asher, Haiden, and Harper; two sisters, Valeria Webb of Camanche and Pat Farley of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Helene in 1959, a son, Clark in 2009, and a sister, Doris in 1994.
