Mr. Michael Charles "Mike" Childress, 56 of North Wilkesboro, husband of Elaine Transeau Childress, died Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at Middle Cross Baptist Church with the Brother Jason Whitley and the Pastor Brian Poindexter officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:30 until 1:30 prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Childress was born December 23, 1958 in Wilkes County to Charlie Arthur and Vena Lee Burchette Childress. He was a member of Middle Cross Baptist Church and worked for many years for Holy Farms/Tyson Foods in various positions.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Transeau Childress, of the home; one son, Ryan Childress and wife, Jennifer, of North Wilkesboro; two grandchildren, Charlie and Christian Childress and one sister, Rebecca Ferguson of North Wilkesboro.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Boy Scout Troop #333, c/o Gina Cleary, 878 Traphill Brown Road, Traphill NC 28685.
