Mildred Preble was the infant daughter of George Henry Preble and Susan Zabiah (Cox) Preble. She died the same day that she was born. Some sources report her birth and death on April 23, 1859 (George Henry Preble's own book Genealogical Sketch of the First Three Generations of Prebles in America), but I believe that to be a printing error. His own Manuscript Collections with the American Antiquarian Society show her birth and death in 1857.
