Ronald LaVell Goff Sr. age 76, passed away at the Veterans Hospital on April 9, 2015 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born to Layton Vaughn Goff and Violet Mae Fausett Goff on December 20, 1938 in Salt Lake City, UT. He was the 9th of 12 children. He was raised in Park City, UT.

Ronald married the love of his life, Mary Lee Gossett in Spartanburg South Carolina on April 20, 1959. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He served proudly in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the LDS Church. He loved NASCAR and the Utah Jazz.

Ronald is survived by his wife Mary Goff of McGill, NV; daughters Rhonda (Ernest) Vargas of Ely, Willadine (Jay) Polk of Louisiana, Ruth Ayala of McGill; son Ronald (Annette) Goff Jr. of Gold Bar, WA; Five grandchildren, CJ (Ashley) Brown of Ely, Amy (Jason) Adams of McGill, Jarrod (Tina) Rino of Florida, Matthew Houghton of Ely and Brian Goff of Arizona; eight great grandchildren Gage, Gracie and Everett Brown, Taylor and Nathan Adams, Jarrod, Abigail, and Zachary Rino; four step grandchildren Edward Loehr, Julie Vargas, Eric Vargas and Terry Martin; fourteen step great grandchildren; brothers Arthur (Cassie) Goff and Robert (Linda) Goff all of Elko; sisters Betty (Jerry) Perkins of Yerington, NV, Geraldine (Ace) Vest of Sandy, UT and Evelyn Yates of Centerville, UT and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Layton and Violet Goff; brothers Layton “Roy” Goff, Maynard “Mont” Goff and Ralph Goff Sr.; sisters Willadine Horrocks and Donna Mae Langford; son-in-law Donald Brown and a granddaughter.

Funeral Services were held Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Mountain Vista Chapel followed by Military Honors and burial at the Ely City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were grandsons CJ Brown, Matthew Houghton, Jarrod Rino and Jason Adams; son in law Ernest Vargas and nephew Rick Goff. Honorary Pallbearers were nephews Maynard Goff, Andy McVicars, Jerry Johnson, Mark Johnson, James Goff, Kelly Goff, J.D. Goff, Kevin Langford, David Vest, John “Bruce” Dolney, Dennis Prickett, Raymond Goff and grandson Brian Goff.
