Lawra Somervell Gregory Conklin of Anderson, West Virginia passed on to a new life, July 28, 2015. She was preceded in 2014 by her longtime companion Michael Paul Somerville.

Lawra was born September 12, 1945 in Little Rock, AR. She graduated Memphis Central High School and Corcoran College of Art and Design.

She was a very talented artist beginning in childhood. Anything Lawra touched was bound to be wonderful. From her childhood walk of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and continued involvement in her churches to childhood dance to figure roller skating competitions and piano competitions to being a great and loving Mother, Daughter, Sister and Grandma aka Golly.

For the past twenty-five years, she dedicated her talents to glorifying The Lord. Her presence will always be felt with the wind through the tree tops of Flat Mountain, West Virginia.

Lawra leaves behind her son, Andrew Jackson Boots IV and two grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by her brother, Warner Gregory and her sister, Melody Ayleene Gregory Luse and their families.

She joins her parents; Lawrence Oscar Gregory and Ayleene Somervell Gregory; and her daughter Sojourner Boots in eternal peace.


In lieu of flowers, it is the family’s request to consider a donation to a local organization helping care for those living with Alzheimer's and their families.


** The memory of Lawra Gregory will always be carried in our hearts. She had a faithful, loving spirit, a brilliant mind and was an extraordinarily artistic talent. Lawra visualized the great beauty in our world and transferred the beauty onto canvas.
