D. Blaine Blackburn, 83, of Dry Ridge, Kentucky, died Wednesday, September 24, 2003, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington. He was a maintenance supervisor for Clow Corp. in Richwood and formerly worked for Clyde Caldwell International Tractor and T&W Ford, both in Williamstown, Pettit Motors in Independence and was a lineman for AT&T. He was a member of the Dry Ridge Baptist Church and an Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Eva Blackburn; one son, Ron Blackburn of Harrison County; one daughter, Hope Gaines of Harrison County; one sister, Rosella Scroggins of Williamstown; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held September 28 at Eckler- Hudson Funeral Home in Dry Ridge. Burial was in New Vine Run Cemetery in Dry Ridge.

Blaine was the son of Dalson and Nora Blackburn.Blaine's mother, Nora, was the sister of my grandfather, Ben Butler Updike. Nora married my grandmother's (Nora Blackburn-Updike, Ben's wife) uncle, Dalson.
